❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. How much does a solar system cost?
The cost depends on the size, type, material brand and site conditions. Residential systems typically range from ₹70,000 to ₹85000 per kW.
2. How long does installation take?
Most systems are installed within 1.5 to 2 months, with site inspection and approvals.
3. Will I still get an electricity bill?
Yes, for on-grid systems, you will still receive a bill. But if your solar system produces more power than you consume, your bill could be zero or in credit.
4. What is net metering?
Net metering allows you to export surplus electricity back to the grid and receive credits on your bill.
5. Is there any government subsidy available?
Yes, under MNRE (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy), subsidies for 1 KW - ₹30,000, 2KW - ₹60,000, 3KW onward - ₹78,000 are available for residential rooftop solar systems. We help you apply for them.
6. How long do solar panels last?
Solar panels typically come with a 25-year performance warranty. Inverters last around 7–10 years and are also covered under warranty.
7. What happens on cloudy days or at night?
Solar panels generate less power on cloudy days and none at night. However, your system will automatically draw from the grid.
8. Can I add more panels in the future?
Yes, systems can be expanded later depending on your inverter capacity and rooftop space.
9. Will solar work during power cuts?
On-grid systems shut down during a power cut (for safety reasons).
10. Do I need to clean the panels?
Yes, panels should be cleaned every few weeks to remove dust and dirt for optimal performance.
